Performance Submissions

This page has been setup for you to submit your request to perform as a part of Sounds On The Couch.

Please note that as of November 2020, the performances will be pre-recorded. The benefits of moving to this model work towards eliminating sound and internet connection issues.. it also allows more musicians to continue to be involved as live gigs increase, post Covid-19 lockdowns.

How Sounds On The Couch shows work:

Sounds On The Couch shows are streamed via Facebook and Youtube every Saturday night at 7pm AEST, with 3 artists and every Wednesday night at 7.30pm AEST, with 1 showcase artist.

The shows are designed to showcase the talent of independent and emerging artists, create community, as artists support other artist performances and create an avenue of exposure for audience members to discover new music.

Notes for your performance:

• Please be aware that the shows are original music only.. We love beautiful covers, however for copyright reasons and to comply with social media policies, we have chosen a model that showcases original music and the creativity of artists. If you send through covers, unfortunately, we will not be able to showcase your music.

• Consider your background and lighting.. we want to see the best of you, so ensure that you have enough lighting on you as you are performing. What do you want to showcase in your background for the performance.

• Check how your sound is coming through and ensure that it is showing the best quality of the music you have to offer.

• We will set up a Facebook event approximately a week before your video is streamed and send you the link to share with your fans, friends and family. You are very welcome to share and promote the event prior to this.

• You are also welcome to set up a PayPal virtual tip-jar to encourage audience members to support you financially. This is optional and if you decide to do this, we will add the link to the video stream. You can find instructions on how to do this HERE.

What we need from you:

The below form has been set up for you to submit the following information:

• Your details so that we can contact you
• Links to your music so audiences can find you
• Upload box to upload your Bio or Artist description – This is so that we can advertise you on social media and use the information for the event setup
• Upload box to upload your Artist photo – This is also for marketing your event
• Upload box to upload anything else of relevance that you might like to send us

Please do not upload your performance video at this stage.. we will request this from you once we book you in for a show.

There is a 256MB file limit on the uploads. If you find that a file doesn’t fit within this, please email your file sharing link to soundsonthecouch@gmail.com.

What happens after I submit my files:

We will review your submission and be in touch.

If we go ahead and set a date, we will request you to send a file sharing link with your performance video.

MessageOnce we receive your submission, we will review and be in touch with you via email.. you can then send through a link to your 20-30 minute performance video. Please note that the performance will need to be one take, without production, as if you are performing live.
